Consultancy Opportunity
GlobalGiving is looking to appoint a consultant to work on a groundbreaking program with a small team to help document, capture and summarise program stories, learning, best practice and feedback, develop content, and support dissemination of content, materials and resources to key audiences, external and internal.
This will be a hands-on opportunity to work closely with (and under the direction of) the program lead and key delivery partners as we seek to maximise what we can learn, how we share and, the way we influence practice. The program (described below) aims to advance locally-led development, local resource mobilisation, and community philanthropy. The program is being delivered in the Philippines, though content will be shared globally - and should have global relevance linked to key trends and themes in the development space currently.
The selected consultant should have an appreciation of, and ideally a passion for, ‘doing development differently’ and be eager to use their analytical and content development skills to capture and share compelling messages that can inspire action. The consultancy proposal should outline a work plan and timetable based on availability to engage in this work ongoing from late April- November 2023 (7/8 months).
GlobalGiving is the consortium lead for Assets, Agency, and Trust, funded by USAID Philippines LocalWorks initiative which aims to drive innovation and experimentation in locally-led development. GlobalGiving and its three consortium partners, Center for Disaster Preparedness, Global Fund for Community Foundations and Nonprot Finance Fund, strongly believe that community ownership is key to sustainable development and that resources that are generated by and for a community can create durable and thriving societies.
Through partnerships, research and engagement with civil society actors and social change makers in the Philippines, this three-year action-research program will:
Key Deliverables
The Assets, Agency and Trust program uses an action-learning and movement-building approach to explore, strengthen, and grow community-led approaches and community philanthropy in the Philippines. To achieve this, the program has four interdependent pathways: a) building a community of practice through active learning sessions; b) non-financial support for community-led approaches; c) grantmaking through the Abot Kamay Community Solidarity Fund; d) communications, engagement, and influencing work.
It will be the responsibility of the Learning and Communications Consultant to ensure that: (1) information, evidence, and learning from the country is systematically and accurately captured, organised and analysed; (2) coordinate and work with local partners in capturing, documenting, and packaging learnings, (3) create communicable content learning materials and resources for key audiences identified in the program’s influencing strategy, (4) work with program consortium partners to develop resources both for internal and external sharing and visibility.
Given the focus of this initiative on emergent trends, innovative thinking and identifying structural changes, we are looking for someone creative, open-minded, adaptable, and curious.
