About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and organized Financial Accountant for our client who is based in Australia. They are in the wealth management industry and will be working with senior staff, Tax Managers, and Directors. You will need to provide accurate and timely bookkeeping, compliance, accounting, and business services to a diverse range of clients.
This is a day-shift, office-based role in Cebu City.
Responsibilities
- Recording the financial transactions of a business in bookkeeping software XERO, spreadsheets or databases.
- Arranging payment of accounts, preparing and sending invoices and receipts to debtors.
- Processing payroll and maintaining employee records.
- Carrying out bank reconciliations.
- Reporting for preparation of a Business Activity Statement (BAS).
- Checking figures and reporting for accuracy.
- Reporting any irregularities in data to management.
- Producing balance sheets, income statements and other financial documents as required.
- Deliver a high standard of administration and client service delivery.
- Respond to client queries in a timely manner.
- Develop strong internal relationships.
- Share relevant, timely information when appropriate.
- Communicate clearly and effectively through oral/written methods.
Requirements
- Bachelor/College degree in Accounting/Finance/Commerce major in Accounting or any related field preferred;
- At least 3 years experience in accounting (AP/AR) and finance;
- Must have 2 years experience in XERO software;
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting rules and tax standards;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy
- Ability to work autonomously/make sound decisions when required.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with good verbal and written English to confidently communicate with managers and team members in Australia;
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills;
- CPA qualification is preferred or working towards it but not compulsory.
