The IT Manager is responsible for ensuring current processes and technologies (hardware and software) are geared towards the specific needs of each business unit and/or employee. He/she acts as the main point of contact and solutions-provider for any IT-related support needs of employees.Duties and responsibilities
  • Manage IT and computer systems and ensure components meet operational needs
  • Control and monitor IT and electronic data operations, including acting as system administrator for any new enrollments or changes to existing systems, ensuring security of data, network and backup systems, and preserving assets and information security
  • Conduct regular system audits and identify opportunities to improve and update hardware, software, and/or systems
  • Establish timeframes and facilitate or perform IT developments including system modifications, updates, upgrades, migrations, etc.
  • Provide technical support and manage escalations related to IT operations including operational systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, work peripherals, and other hardware
  • Research and implement solutions to foreseeable problem areas or vulnerabilities in alignment with user needs and system functionalities
  • Design and develop policies and procedures especially on business-critical IT tasks and system administration, including disaster procedures, data backups, information security breaches
  • Continuously identify areas of improvement in current process, technologies, and vendors and prepare analysis reports when upgrades or changes are necessary
  • Manage allocation of IT budget and ensure the best possible service and value for company needs are met
  • Train employees on software and hardware, including troubleshooting and other technical issues, as needed
  • Provide support and act as consultant in ad-hoc projects or business initiatives

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or computer science
  • 5+ years experience in end-to-end IT management
  • Expertise and hands-on experience with implementing, configuring, and testing IT solutions
  • Expertise and hands-on experience in technical management of equipment, software and operational systems, including system performance monitoring and backup and recovery procedures
  • People manager experience would be an advantage

  • Excellent communication skills and able to effectively convey messages or know-how to non-technical customers
  • Highly dependable and responsive especially in urgent or time-sensitive situations
  • Able to maintain high level of integrity and confidentiality

Working conditions
  • Work from home arrangement unless business need requires physical presence
  • Travel may be required
  • Overtime or on-call duties may be required
  • Flex time or shift schedule (or combination)
