The opportunity:

We’re looking for a commercially focused Inventory Manager with excellent stakeholder development skills to support the transformation of our Inventory Management function, driving innovation and working closely with the wider Supply Chain team to ensure optimal route of supply and customer service. This role will have a clear focus on our a dedicated portfolio of accounts in support of our expansion plans, the successful candidate will be a credible resource within the team and their skills and experience may be called upon when troubleshooting from a wider global perspective.

You’ll be working in a fast-moving environment, eCommerce never sleeps! and you will be required to proactively manage and organise the Inventory aligned with daily sales forecast and seasonality spikes. You’ll also have the satisfaction of taking ownership of individual projects and business improvement targets through resolution, we are a rapidly scaling company with ambitious goals for our future growth!

Here’s what happened in your first year.

  • You have successfully maintained inventory management resources, capabilities and systems constantly aligned with the 100% year on year growth in stock flow volume (pcs) with no drop in efficiency.
  • You have achieved all set goals and KPIs, including:
  • Zero bulk air shipments (due to factors under your control)
  • At least 80% of all items maintained at 30 days of stock (+/-10).
  • No products with stock gt; 180 days.
  • Zero stock-out occurrences for main skus (sales listings).
  • No limitations or exceptions in the stock flow that result in higher than normal costs or longer than normal delivery schedules.
  • You have optimised inventory as evidenced by improved stock-to-sales ratios compared with the start of the year.
  • You have developed an effective, reliable network of 3PLs as required to meet objectives.
  • You have Improved fundamental quality of inventory operations in terms of efficiency, accuracy, agility and risk control.
  • A champion of our SOP’s and processes, you have documented a comprehensive framework of policies, workflows and guides that cover all critical inventory planning and control activities specific to your dedicated portfolio of accounts.

What you'll do:

  • Track, analyse and report on the inventory status of all your account products, at the item, category and market level.
  • Collaborate with forecasting, marketing, purchasing, logistics and other global inventory teams to build a complete understanding of product supply and demand factors.
  • Coordinate inventory operations such as shipments, receipts, transfers, labelling and removals either directly or through internal/external service providers.
  • Maintain and improve an inventory tracking system and process to streamline inventory operations.
  • Measure, track and share inventory KPIs for products under management.
  • Identify and solve stock flow exceptions and other problems.
  • Ensure all data points related to stock flows are consistent, accurate and up-to-date.

Requirements

  • You have 3+ yrs experience within an inventory management function preferably within a fast-paced distribution, wholesale or FMCG sectors.
  • You have demonstrated experience working with high SKU counts, multiple suppliers and customers across many countries.
  • You have prior experience of ERP systems such as Oracle, JDA, SAP or bespoke company tailored inventory planning systems.
    • You are naturally curious with a passion for technology and emerging applications.
    • You have a very strong attention to detail and analytical skills, picking systems and processes up quickly and are willing to learn.
