Job Description

The Celo mission is to build a financial system that creates the conditions for prosperity for all.
Celo aims to remove the barriers for large-scale adoption of cryptocurrencies as means-of-payment. Using a novel address-based encryption algorithm, the Celo protocol makes sending money as easy as sending a text. Additionally, Celo uses stable-value tokens pegged to fiat currencies, like the US Dollar, to minimize volatility. Celo is an open protocol enabling many to participate in the system, even with a budget Android smartphone. The first application launching on the Celo platform is a social payments and money transfer app, aimed at developing markets.
As the Philippines Commerce Lead, you’ll be responsible for growing merchant acceptance across the Philippines. • Define a strategy for local expansion, identifying key merchants, chains, or payments processors in each target city or region
  • Develop new strategies to best connect with potential merchants and improve conversion
  • Report regularly to team leadership on the challenges and successes of each area, providing actionable insights that will lead to continued growth
  • Act as a point of contact for newly on-boarded merchants, ensuring their success on the platform
  • Build acceptance from scratch, which means being bold and strategic in your efforts

  • Define merchant personas to be targeted at different stages
  • Build a prioritization model for merchant personas
  • Build a CRM database to keep track of merchants contacted and on-boarded
  • Develop education materials for the merchant community
You Are:
