About the Role

We are currently seeking a Finance Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. As a Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with various financial tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, data entry, financial reporting, and general accounting support. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and the rest of the finance team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

What You'll Do

  • Process invoices and expenses, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Assist with accounts payable
  • Perform data entry for financial transactions into the accounting system
  • Assist with the monthly pay cycle preparation
  • Assist with teacher finance administration and financial reporting
  • Support the Cultural Representative in the Philippines with People amp; Culture tasks
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation
  • Support the Finance Manager with ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)
  • Familiarity with accounting software (Xero, Google Sheets etc)
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team (remote experience a bonus)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis is a plus
  • You are expected to work 40 hours per week in AEST timezone.
  • Reliable access to high-speed internet working remotely
