Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the overall daily management of assigned teams, BAU projects and/or ongoing work.
  • Spearhead project approach with stakeholders and prepares realistic BAU project plans (including scope, schedule, quality, risk and communication plans).
  • Monitors costs, times, quality and resources used and takes action where these exceed agreed tolerances.
  • Spearhead and facilitate activities in implementation and other teams to ensure accuracy in planning and execution.
  • Act as point of escalation for project road blockers and other BAU project issues that could impact project timelines and overall success.
  • Supervise and coaches team members and ensures development of targeted skills and capabilities in line with team and individual goals.
  • Allocates routine tasks or project work and monitors progress against agreed quality and performance criteria.
  • Analyses service delivery performance to identify actions required to maintain or improve levels of service.
  • Initiates and reports on actions to maintain or improve levels of service.
  • Ensures analysis of patterns and trends to improve problem management, change management, and overall project management processes.
  • Monitor and maintain standards on safety, commissioning, and practices in the implementation activities of the project team.
Qualifications
  • Able to think critically in high-pressure situations
  • Technical knowledge relating to Fiber-based Telecommunications Networks
  • Proven leadership / mentoring capabilities
  • Can be trusted to complete work without supervision and take responsibility for work items
  • Can guide, mentor, train and teach internal and external teams on quality, standards and techniques for fiber optic and network equipment installation
  • Can make sound decisions and can back it up with logical reasoning
  • Can conduct Performance Evaluation with sub contractors and subordinates
  • Experience in AutoCAD, SketchUp, MS Visio
  • Preferably proficient in project management systems and inventory management systems
