Job Description

Location: Philippines, 100% remote work-from-home position (You must permanently live and have the right to work in the Philippines to apply for this position)

Pay Rate: $4 USD per hour (Paid via PayPal)

Contract: 6-month contract with an extension highly likely. Self-employed contractor. Responsible for own taxes. No benefits.

The Role:

Here at Twinkl, we are currently looking for a content writer/editor for our Philippine Team. We are looking for creative, innovative, cooperative content writers/editors to join our team and collaborate with making content according to the current Department of Education Matatag Curriculum.

You will be helping to create wonderful lesson plans aligned with the Matatag Curriculum and specifically designed for the Filipino teachers’ classroom needs. You will also contribute to the professional development of the teachers through the creation of learning modules and facilitation of webinars and training sessions.

In your role as a writer/editor, you will focus on quality when writing content, and help ensure that the content of our resources is accurate and well written, helping us to deliver high-quality materials to the Philippine teaching community.

As part of the Twinkl Philippines team, you will communicate with all the members of the team and other team members from across the globe and attend weekly meetings to stay updated on the progress of our work.


How you’ll spend your day:

  • Creating lesson plans for the elementary level following the product scheme, reviewing and editing content that our Writers have created to ensure it is accurate, well written, suitable for the target age group and providing the correct level of challenge and support.
  • Creating learning modules and workshops for teachers aligned with the Matatag Curriculum
  • Meeting, working and communicating with other team members in a scrum team to achieve sprint goals.


In this role, you will learn:

  • To Create and adapt materials aligned with the Matatag Curriculum.
  • To Work collaboratively with other Content Writers and designers to produce educational materials.
  • How to create new teacher content for our Twinkl Philippines team, from ideation stage to publication on the site.
  • To Collaborate remotely, working closely with team members across the globe. (In English)
  • How to develop greater commercial awareness so we can understand the needs of those we want to help.


You’ll work with:

  • Kriszel Siasoyco (Twinkl Philippines Country Manager)
  • Other teachers and team members the team consists of Content Writers/ Editors and designers, all working together to create material and innovate together.

Requirements

To succeed in the role, you will need to:

  • Have an excellent understanding of the Department of Education Matatag Curriculum (Elementary).
  • Be a fully qualified teacher in the Philippines (Bachelors or Masters in Education)
  • Have at least 2-3 years of recent experience teaching in the public school sector (In the last 3 years)
  • Have confidence in creating DepEd aligned Lesson Plans amp; Teacher training modules
  • Have excellent English amp; Filipino language skills. (Must be able to communicate both written and verbally to a Native standard)
  • Have excellent spelling, punctuation and grammar skills in English and Filipino.
  • Be Creative and proactive ideators, writers and editors.
