About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and organized Bookkeeper with Xero experience for our client who is based in Australia.
This is a day-shift, office-based role in Cebu City.
Responsibilities
Transaction Management
- Oversight of accounts payable function including:
- management of client bills/invoices in Dext and Xero
- bank reconciliation
- preparation of supplier batch payments
- reconciliation of supplier statements
Payroll and Payroll Related Compliance
- Preparation and processing of payroll and superannuation including:
- Managing Award compliance
- Ensuring Single Touch Payroll compliance
- Preparation of compliance requirements, including but not limited to:
- Payroll Tax
- Workers Compensation annual reporting
- Portable Long Service Leave
- Taxable Payment Payments Annual Report
- Reconciliation of wages and superannuation accounts
BAS Compliance
- Preparation of compliance requirements, including but not limited to:
- Business and Instalment Activity Statements
- Reconciliation of GST and PAYGW accounts
Monthly review of accounts to ensure the following:
- All balance sheet accounts are reconciled
- Revenue and expense are correctly coded
- Project tracking is assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor/College degree in Accounting/Finance/Commerce major in Accounting or any related field preferred;
- CPA qualification is preferred or working towards it but not compulsory.
- Experience with Xero and Dext software;
- At least 3 years experience in accounting (AP/AR) and finance;
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting rules and tax standards;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy
- Ability to work autonomously/make sound decisions when required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with good verbal and written English to confidently communicate with managers and team members in Australia;
