The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, performance driven environment. We are looking for an experienced Systems Specialist to join our team! As a Systems Specialist you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of Computer Applications and Systems for the IT Infrastructure team.
As Systems Specialist, You Will
- Responsible for the operations, maintenance, system patches, configuration of systems, applications, and virtual environments
- Install and upgrade systems, components and software, manage virtual servers/applications, and integrate automation processes
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues working closely with business units and clients
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff and other departments for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
- Perform or administer regular backup operations, reports and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
- Assist desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, systems infra and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
- Reviews for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
Requirements
As Systems Specialist, You Have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
- 3+ years of database, network administration, or system administration experience in a Microsoft Windows environment
- System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields a plus
- Experienced in full-cycle patch management in Microsoft Windows Environment with knowledge of desktop and server operating systems
- Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
- Knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
- Experience with scripting and automation tools a plus
- Knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
- Working knowledge of incident response handling in a large, multi discipline IT environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues in simple terms to end users and senior engineers
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
- Good time-management and critical thinking skills
